Dodgers compete in Marshalltown
MARSHALLTOWN — The Fort Dodge boys track team competed in Marshalltown on Thursday night.
Junior Noah Daniel finished second in the 100-meter dash in his first time out. He ran a 11.15, just .05 behind the winner.
“Noah ran well for his first meet,” said Fort Dodge head coach Nik Moser. “There was some really good competition with Ankeny Centennial and Southeast Polk.
“Noah was only .05 off in the 100 and (Rylan) Kingrey was impressive.”
The sprint medley quartet of Will McElroy, Tru McBride, Taevon Feeley and Hunter Richardson was also second.
Jayce Point, Cael Hansen, Avery Bryhne and Joseph Petersen were third in the 4×800.
In the 4×100, Kingrey, McBride, Tytrell Mosley and Daniel were third.
Also placing third was Kingrey in the 200 and Dalton Eckley in the high jump.
The distance medley squad of McBride, Beckley, Hared Chada and Myles Summers were fourth.
The 4×400 squad of Hunter Richardson, Sam Moser, Zak Jorgensen, and Beckley were fourth.
Also placing fourth was Point in the 800.
“We dropped time in everything,” Moser said. “We dropped significant time, going eight seconds lower in the 4×4 and were a second-and-a-half quicker in the 4×1.”
The Dodgers are back in action on Saturday when they run inside Drake Stadium for the Jim Duncan Relays.
