The St. Edmond girls tennis team continued their winning ways with an 8-1 victory over Clear Lake here Tuesday.

Lauren Gibb, Payton Bradley, Cambree Lunn, Ava Underberg and Abby Huss were all victorious in singles competition for the defending North Central Conference champion Gaels (5-0 overall, 3-0 in league).

In doubles, Gibb and Bradley, Lunn and Ava Andrew, and Underberg and Chloe Palmer secured wins.

“The girls did a great job of battling through the very windy conditions,” SEHS head coach Shawn Neverman said. “Coming into the meet, Clear Lake tried to shuffle up their lineup after an 0-2 start. Cambree at the No. 3 position fought their former No. 1 to a tiebreaker win with some very patient and disciplined play.”

St. Edmond returns to action next Tuesday when they host Iowa Falls-Alden.
