Gaels remain perfect at the nets

The St. Edmond girls tennis team remained unbeaten with a 10-1 win over Iowa Falls-Alden here Tuesday evening.

Lauren Gibb, Payton Bradley, Cambree Lunn, Ava Andrew, Ava Underberg and Abby Huss were all winners in singles for the Gaels (6-0 overall, 3-0 in North Central Conference).

“Lauren played great again as she didn’t allow a single match point in singles or doubles,” SEHS head coach Shawn Neverman said. “Payton had a slow start but battled back to win in a tiebreaker, 10-3.”

In doubles, Gibb and Bradley, Lunn and Andrew, Underberg and Chloe Palmer, and Huss and Olivia Andrew were all winners.

“It was a great night of tennis by the girls,” Neverman said. “They went out there and took care of business.”

In junior varsity doubles, Braelynn Rees and Ludy Midtling won twice with Nicole and Emily Mosier also earning a win.

The Gaels host South Hardin on Friday and head to the Pella Invitational on Saturday.

Starting at $2.99/week.
