Hawks top No. 20 Nebraska

IOWA CITY — Fort Dodge graduate Jalen Adams pitched her 11th complete game of the season, as the University of Iowa softball team upset No. 20 Nebraska on Sunday.
Adams (16-5 overall) led the Hawkeyes to a 5-2 win over the Huskers. She fanned seven batters, walking two.
Three different Hawkeyes registered a hit, with sophomore Jena Young leading the way, going 3-for-3. Freshman Taia Tretton had a hit with two RBI.
Fellow Dodger graduate Tory Bennett, had a hit and scored a run in the three-game set.
This was Iowa’s second Top-25 win of the season, after beating No. 5 UCLA earlier.
The Hawkeyes lost the opener 14-1 and 12-0 to the Cornhuskers in the first two meetings.
Iowa (22-14, 4-6 Big Ten) hosts Illinois State on Tuesday.
