MANSON — The Southeast Valley boys track and field team claimed seven events in securing overall gold here Thursday night at the Emily Markert Relays hosted by Manson Northwest Webster.

The Jaguars earned three relay titles and finished with 148 points, 33 ahead of runner-up MVAOCOU. The host Cougars were third followed by South Hamilton, Cherokee, East Sac County, Alta-Aurelia, Pocahontas Area, Newell-Fonda and West Bend-Mallard.

Dreyvon Steadman, Alex Burger, Kayden Showers and Colin Johnson all won individual races. Steadman captured the 100-meter dash in 11.04, Burger won the 110 hurdles in 15.64, Showers claimed the 200 in 22.51 and Johnson the 400 hurdles in 56.66.

Southeast Valley was also first in the sprint medley relay (1:41.82), the shuttle hurdle relay (1:04.66) and the 4×200 relay (1:34.40). Burger added a runner-up in the 400 hurdles, as did the 4×100 relay.

Deegan Brandel was third in the discus for the Jaguars, as was Owen Nuss in the 800 and the distance medley relay.

For Manson Northwest Webster, Matt Condon won both the high jump (6-2) and the long jump (22-3.5) while finishing second in the 110 hurdles. Mason Anderson (high jump), Jack Hoeppner (800), Thatcher Oswald (400) and the 4×800 relay all finished in second.

East Sac County’s Landon Sporrer finished first in the 3,200 clocking a time of 10:48.41 while teammate Tyson Jackson was the 100 runner-up. Pocahontas Area received a silver from its sprint medley relay with Caleb Roberts (high jump), Logan Shiflett (400) and the 4×100 relay all placing third.

Newell-Fonda’s Jake Roberts (shot put) and Max Carlson (400 hurdles) were each third.
