Tritons split ranked twinbill
DES MOINES — The 19th-ranked Iowa Central softball handed seventh-ranked DMACC its first ICCAC loss of the season on Sunday.
The Tritons (26-5 overall, 7-3 ICCAC) won the opener 9-3 and dropped a 10-2 nightcap to the Bears (33-4, 9-1).
Kennedy Palmer, Natalie Rasmussen and Kaylee Cary all had two hits each. Ramussen blasted two home runs and drove in four runs. Sydney Wilson had a double.
Kyra Kain drove in two runs, while Jayda Long, Breanna Nolte and Cary had one RBI each.
Long picked up the win, going the distance and allowing eight hits. She struck out four and walked zero.
In the loss Nolte had a two run home run for the Tritons. Rasmussen had the other hit.
Iowa Central is back in action on Tuesday when they host Southwestern for a doubleheader.
