Tritons stretch streak to five

IOWA FALLS — The 19th-ranked Iowa Central softball team pushed their win streak to five with a sweep of Ellsworth here Friday in ICCAC play.

Scores were 10-2 in five innings and 11-6.

The Tritons (25-4 overall, 6-2 in league) have scored 42 runs over the past five games in wins vs. the Panthers, Northeast and 15th-ranked North Iowa Area.

Reagan Enright had two doubles and drove in a pair, while Kennedy Palmer had two RBI and reached base on a hit and a walk.

Carly Ryan, Kyra Kain and Natalie Rasmussen each drove in two runs in support of Jayda Long, who moved to 10-2 with four strikeouts in three innings.

Palmer went 4-for-4 in the leadoff spot of the nightcap, scoring three times with an RBI and a walk. Long and Cailyn Hardy both had triples, as Breanna Nolte and Hardy each collected two hits.

Long finished with three RBI as Jaidan Abel earned the win, striking out three over three-plus scoreless innings. Jadeyn Stahr collected a save, getting the final seven outs without allowing a hit or issuing a walk.

Iowa Central returns to the field on Sunday for a doubleheader in Boone vs. No. 7 Des Moines Area beginning at noon.
