Tritons take another baseball series
CENTERVILLE — The No. 19 Iowa Central baseball team took two of three from Indian Hills here over the weekend.
After winning the first two games by scores of 16-3 and 8-3, the Tritons dropped the finale, 12-6.
Iowa Central (22-6 overall, 6-2 in ICCAC) has won 11 of 13 overall as they prepare for another three-game road series at Iowa Lakes beginning Wednesday.
In the 16-3 win over the Warriors, Chayton Fischer went 4-for-4 with six RBI, two runs scored, two home runs and a double. Jake Busson also went deep while Spencer Pederson scored three runs with three hits.
On the mound, Carter Giesen moved to 4-0 with five strikeouts over five innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run. William Ho picked up his second save with two scoreless innings and a pair of strikeouts.
Pederson had a homer in the loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs and two walks. Colin Richie also had two hits while Justin Benjamin Jr. recorded four strikeouts on the mound.
