Two top finishes for Gael boys
OGDEN — The St. Edmond boys track and field team secured several Top-5 finishes here Thursday at the Ogden Early Bird Relays.
Leading the way was Aaron Hindt, as the sophomore captured gold in the 200 with his fourth personal-record of the year at 22.7. He also ran the third leg of the winning distance medley relay.
Joining Hindt were Grant Galles, Levi Odor-Westrum and Anthony Valles, as they had a time of 3:49.29. Hindt was also third in the 100 and fourth in the long jump.
“It was a really good night for the guys,” SEHS head coach Donn Larson said. “The kids were really happy with their performances.”
St. Edmond finished tied for seventh overall in the team standings.
Liam Shannon was the 3,200 runner-up in 10:53 while also placing sixth in the 1,600. Valles added a fourth in the 800 for the Gaels.
St. Edmond now prepares for the Umstead Relays in Eagle Grove on Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m. Joining the Gaels will be Algona, Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, Humboldt, Manson Northwest Webster, Webster City, Belmond-Klemme, Central Springs, Forest City, Iowa Falls-Alden, Lake Mills, Mason City Newman and West Hancock.
