Triton softball team sweeps Northeast
NORFOLK, Neb. — The 19th-ranked Iowa Central softball team picked up a sweep over Northeast here Thursday.
Scores were 8-4 and 5-0.
In the opener, Jayda Long and Jaidan Abel combined for 12 strikeouts, as Carly Ryan went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI for the Tritons (23-4 overall, 4-2 in ICCAC).
Long helped her own cause with two hits, driving in a pair, while Avery McKinney stole two bases with a run scored and an RBI.
Jadeyn Stahr dominated the nightcap, tossing a six-hitter with no walks as Kyra Kain hit a home run. Kennedy Palmer had a triple and scored twice while Long, Sydney Wilson and McKinney each had two hits.
